Dan Thompson, or as most call him, “D”, is a
versatile bass player that can run the gamut from
Blues to the heaviest Metal, and Industrial music
on the market. Dan hails from the Midwest,
primarily the Chicagoland area, but has laid down
roots as thick and substantial as his playing from
Milwaukee to Indianapolis, and thru the heart of
this great music region. Many musicians and
acquaintances, state that Dan’s playing is solid,
well rounded, and always open to the styles at
hand, never letting them down when it comes to
holding down the bottom end of any group, a
good foundation from where a great band or song
can be built.
At current Dan is actively working on furthering
his career in the Music Industry, and securing
that elusive grail of this Industry, going full-time,
whether it be working on a studio project , road
work , or as a “for Hire” musician, he is up for any
challenge.
Along with All of this "D" has become a Spector
Bass Guitar's Endorsed Artist, this honor was
bestowed upon him in Sept. 2006, after trudging
through the years of playing and paying quite a
few"dues" to the Gods of Music. Hopefully you
will see him at various Spector events, demos,
and seminars. Look on the contact page for links
to the products "D" uses exclusively.

part of 32 years and a Professional for 24 of those,
playing various clubs, bars, and venues in the
Midwest, and he is looking to take it to the next
level. Dan has also studied at Illinois Sate
University where he Minored in Music, and
continued on at the Chicago Musical College in
Roosevelt University , where he studied Jazz
Performance and other structures in order to
make him a more rounded and proficient player.

a Bachelor of Science degree in Theatre
Design/Production emphasizing in Lighting and
Audio, and has worked as freelance rigger, arena
audio tech and stagehand. So no matter what or
where he is ready for anything.

styles of playing Dan can add to your music as
well. Bring that solid bass playing, as Rob Lesko
drummer and co-founder of” Mercy Tree” calls
Dan “ the Quarterback of the Tree Team”, holding
things down, helping the sound move forward to
your next endeavor , you won’t be sorry you did.
